Vacations are mostly positive
experiences, which, unfortunately, end up with a return to the conventional
routines. It causes the post-vacation depression, which is not a serious
concern but decreases the productivity of certain people significantly. The
post-travel blues is easy to overcome, though.
#1. The fear of commonness
We fear the ordinariness of our
common duties. The mental pressure makes us feel our life is imperfect, which
causes the fear of commonness. To deal with this, you should apply some changes
to your daily routine and your life in general. You can add some elements of
your trip to your life. Finally, get a new haircut like those offered by the good barber shops in NYC. Reassess your
daily habits and think of what you can change. Looking for new opportunities
will open up much thinking space for your mind.
#2. Enjoy the experiences you’ve had
You should appreciate your memories
rather than sadden your return to daily life. Be grateful to yourself about the
vacation you have had. The way you think about something changes the way you
feel. Whenever you notice that you are mourning your daily life, try thinking
about your positive experiences as an occasion to enhance your productivity.
#3. Re-adjust to your normal life in
advance
For further traveling, it is
essential to prepare yourself for the vacation blues. Schedule your days at
home during the last days of the vacation. Try giving yourself a few days to
acclimate and return to work in the middle of the workweek, so that you have
fewer days to work before the weekends. You can also bring some home reminders
to your traveling destination. It fairly facilitates the transition to the
daily life.
Don’t get offended by people who
don’t understand your post-vacation sadness. Luckily, they don’t experience
this feeling.
