What Is Self Esteem?

Self esteem is a person’s own psychological, emotional, physical and spiritual evaluation. Self esteem is mainly about the worth we give ourselves, how much we like ourselves, and how well we feel about ourselves. It is the result of the influences of such factors like family, friends, celebrities, political figures and/or the circumstances and the nature of environment that we possess.

In most of the cases we fell in the devious well of pessimism, because something bad has happened to us or things or circumstances has turned into situations that we cannot control. And sometimes, our own social circles causes our self esteem to lose by reminding us over a certain period of time that we lack something or things are not favorable for us. The continuous exposure to such circles can be dangerous for us. And if we become unable to maintain our control on ourselves and give it to others, we are surely to become victim of losing our self esteem. Such situations reminds about an indication that we had lost or forgotten about our self esteem.

Happiness is a state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Whatever we do in our life reflects our intention to pursue happiness at the end, either by doing any task or achieving our goal. No one wants to live a life of misery, but it is however difficult to live happily forever. Because, none of us lives in Utopia and the world is always full with surprising challenges, difficulties and issues that reflect growing tensions, for all of us. So if one falls in the horizon of these difficulties or challenges, it becomes difficult for him/her to turn back in the state of mind which is full of joy and happiness.

Though, it is not a matter to have masters in rocket sciences, have an international university degree, to become the wealthiest person, or have the most intelligent mind in the universe, in order to achieve happiness and live a life of prosperity, all it requires is to use and follow such timely and apt principles that will brought you into state of mind of joy and a life of happiness. So the question is, is it really simple? The answer is yes, but on a condition, that if you are willing to become happy, then you can be. It is really up to you dude. So let’s start to sign in for happiness:

1. Don’t take things too seriously and smile often
Either you believe it or not, you don’t need to be too serious. Therefore take a break from your life to give yourself time to live. Laugh silly at problems as much as you can. It is the best medicine. It will provide you the cure of all worries, grief and tensions. Remember, the most wasted of all days is one without laughter and those who can laugh without cause have found the true meaning of happiness. So start living well, laugh often, and love much. And try to laugh at least 20 times a day.
Nothing you wear is more important than your smile. When you see a person without a smile, give him yours. Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love. If you have only one smile in you then give it to the people you love.

2. Don’t settle in the past
Many of us blast ourselves between two stealers, regret for the past and fear of the future, which holds us away from living in the moment and ultimately takes away our happiness. One has to understand that the past is over and gone and cannot be changed, and the future is not guaranteed. This is the only moment we can experience.

So dwell not on the past, instead use it to illustrate a lesson, and then leave it behind to move forward. Nothing really matters except what you do now in this instant of time. From this moment onwards you can be an entirely different person, filled with love and understanding, ready with an outstretched hand, uplifted and positive in every thought and deed, and a wholly new person enjoying the blossoms of life, with love, peace, prosperity and happiness.

3. Success and happiness are interlinked
Your success and happiness lie in you. Success is not the key to happiness, but happiness is the key to success. Success is getting what you want. Happiness is having harmony with what you get. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

4. Happiness is a choice and a right
Happiness is a choice, a state of mind, and not a destination. In the absence of happiness, there's going to be stress in life, but it's your choice whether to let it affect you or not. You want to be miserable or want to motivate yourself, whatever has to be done; it's always your choice.
Most of the time we look outside to the people, things and events to brought some sort of smile and joy on our face. In this way we give up our control on life and surrenders ourselves to others to give happiness to us whenever they want and how much they want. But it would be quite interesting to make your mind understood with the approach of taking happiness as a right instead a gift. Therefore, take happiness granted to you as a right that you inherit from birth.

5. Have faith
More than 1,000 studies have found a link between faith and living longer. It’s thought that having strong beliefs helps people deal with stress and emotional problems, and also seems to offer protection against heart, respiratory and digestive problems.

Faith means believing the unbelievable. Happiness is a choice you make when you allow faith through the entry gate and fear through the exit gate. Faith makes all things possible and your dedication makes it easy. When you put faith, hope and love together you can raise positivity in a negative world.

6. Love as much as you can
Make this quote mission of life, “live, love, learn, leave a legacy.” Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness.  The greatest gift that we can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance. When you love people and have the desire to make a profound, positive impact upon the world, then you will have accomplished true meaning to live.

7. Happiness is within you
The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance, the wise grows under his feet. Happiness is like a butterfly, which, when perused, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you. Happiness is not a readymade phenomenon; it comes from your own actions. However, it is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and is completely impossible to find it elsewhere. If you will start searching the world for happiness, you may find it in the end, because for the world is round and will lead you back to your door. The golden key to happiness in not situated into any treasure box, it lies purely in intention of a man. In fact, there is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.

8. Embrace change
Only change is permanent. It is the law of life, and those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future. So when one door of happiness closes, think of others which are open, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us. Thus embrace the change in life and go forward to welcome the new opportunities sparkling happiness in life.

9. Don’t be too emotional
Most of us would be upset if we were accused of being “silly.” But it is quite humorous to know that the word “silly” comes from the old English word “selig,” which literally means “to be blessed, happy, healthy and joyful. However, emotions are part of human nature, but advice is to be “silly” to come out of stressed situation.

10. Don’t make things complicated
Follow it as a thumb rule, “keep it simple.” I would suggest you to keep everything simple and try to have as much fun as you can.

11. Don’t give up your happiness
When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems you cannot hold on a minute longer, never give up then for that is just the place and time the tide will turn. Never ever give up upon your happiness.

12. Forgive and forget
The last but not least of this happiness article is to forgive. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. However, forgiveness is not always easy. At times, it feels more painful than the wound we suffered, to forgive the one that inflicted it. And yet, there is no peace without forgiveness. And peace is the precursor of true happiness in life.

Tolerance and forgiveness are life altering lessons. If you will not forgive your enemies, how you can imagine yourself as happy, when you all the time have grudge in your mind, that one day is surely going to harm you rather than your enemies. So forgive them, and even do more than forgiving; forget. It is the attribute of greatness. Remember, you are on your journey to spend your life freely, happily and full of joy, and never allow the emotions of hatred, anger and pity spoil your journey.

Conclusion
The happiest people are those who think the most interesting thoughts. Those who decide to use leisure as a means of mental development, who love good music, good books, good pictures, good company, good conversation, are the happiest people in the world. And they are not only happy in themselves; they are the cause of happiness in others. Therefore, if you want to be happy, be. Happiness is the phenomenon that I would rate equal to oxygen, as necessary for life. And you can’t postpone it for the future; it had to be done, achieved and explored immediately, in the present moment.

Be happy!

It is the first instance in over a century that US has not held the top spot in economy as China has just surpassed the United States as the world’s number one economy. The People’s Republic of China will seemingly fabricate a GDP of $17.6 trillion to America’s $17.4 trillion. The reaction of U.S. business media on this landmark are very anxious and terrified which reflects that American’s are scared of China’s new role as world’s biggest economy. It has been signified as a radical change in world politics, and entitled as "a geopolitical earthquake with a high reading on the Richter scale.”

Why Time Management is Important?
Different people have different types of time management. Bad time management is equal to stress. By some estimates, people waste about 2 hours per day.  Signs of time wasting include; messy desk and cluttered files, unable to find things at right place, missed appointments or unprepared for meetings, wasteful use of social media, tired and unable to concentrate. Being successful doesn’t make you manage your time well. Managing your time well makes you successful. Be regular and orderly in your life so that you may be violent and original in your work.

The aim of this study is to find out the consequences brought by the system of coeducation on the character and personality of students. In this study we will try to find out the positive and negative impacts of coeducation on the character of students, in order to discover that is the said system is helpful to be implemented in our educational settings or not.

What is co-education?
Mixed-sex education, also known as coeducation or mixed-gender education is the integrated education of male and female students in the same environment. This and single-sex education are alternatives, and both are employed around the world. Many older institutions of higher education were previously reserved for one gender but have now changed to become coeducational.

Coeducation finds its origin in Sparta, Greece. At that time, there was no distinction between boys and girls. They studied and played together. They were given academic education along with physical training. Plato, the great philosopher theorized that coeducation was essential for the development of personality. He believed that coeducation was the only way to make boys and girls beneficial to the society. Therefore, West acknowledged and adopted the system of co-education for the benefits it provides.

Effects of coeducation
For years, a question many educators, parents, and researchers have been asking is whether or not it is academically beneficial to teach to boys and girls together or separately at school. Some argue that coeducation allows males and females of all ages to become more prepared for real-world situations, whereas a student that is only familiar with a single-sex setting could be less prepared, nervous, or uneasy. However, at certain ages, students may be more distracted by the opposite gender in a coeducational setting. This distraction may affect how often a student is willing to raise his or her hand in class and to focus on the lesson. The absence of the opposite sex creates a non-realistic environment not duplicated in the real world. The real world is made up of males and females.

Positive Impacts
The world is comprised of men and women, boys and girls, and if a school’s mission is to prepare students for life in the world, then co-educational schools have an advantage and teach important skills that will be called on for success in later schooling and life.

A co-ed school is a place to encounter, understand, and work with the other gender; that the genders are, fundamentally compatible; that girls and boys can and should learn from each other; that differences, when they do exist, can be understood.  These are powerful assumptions and can have a significant impact on student learning.

The positivity of coeducation is that a person learns how to interact and deal with other people and he/she develops her interpersonal skills which becomes a strong stick to an old man when he/she enters the professional life because in that period of your life it is not necessary that you are only going to deal with girls if you are a girl or boys if you are a boy. Co-ed provides an opportunity to be better trained from earlier stages.

Co-educational schools teach important skills that will be called on for success in later schooling and life. In a co-ed school, girls and boys can also know that when they succeed with the other gender present, this can only have a positive impact on future achievement and self-esteem. And this issue of the world remains an important reason to support co-education.

There is also the issue of diversity. A diverse school experience featuring contact with people from different backgrounds, cultures, belief systems, and genders which is a positive phenomenon. A co-educational school does, then, offer an experience that is more real and powerful. Girls and boys can and should learn from each other.

The interaction between boys and girls at this age helps in their practical life later on. Co-education also produces a healthy competition. The boys become more civilized and polished in the presence of girls. The girls also stand to gain something in the presence of boys.
Positive Impacts on Student’s character

Negative impacts
Much has been written both in favor of, and against co-educational institutes all around the world. Both the proponents and opponents cite apparently valid arguments to support their view.

The negative aspect is engaging in some non required activities like mostly in coeducation girls and boys are found hanging around cafes and pubs, bunking the classes and this all stinks.

The boys and girls might waste their time in activities unrelated to their studies. The youth is characterized by irresponsibility and immaturity. This free contact can result in laxity of morals. Therefore, it is false economy to teach them in the same institution.
Negative impacts on student’s character

Conclusion
Coeducation has always remained a controversial issue. Some people want this system to be adopted in all the institutions on the other hand; there is a sizable portion of population that is opposed to it. Both the schools of thought present argument supporting their stance. Proponents of coeducation argue that it is the need of hour and that it has the ability to eliminate the problems of the developing country. Nonetheless, the opponents dare to disagree. To them, the system does not confirm to the religious, social and cultural values of the society.

Decision should not be based on whether to minimize or increase a child's exposure to the opposite sex at educational institutions. We must consider the reputation of the school, the activities it offers and the quality of education and educators.

I believe in the fact that politics done with the intention to serve the humanity and devotion for their welfare is mysticism itself, by losing self gains and working for societal interests, but it doesn’t fit out in the contemporary era, particularly in the case of Pakistan. The history of Pakistani politics is crammed with treacherous politicians, civil bureaucracy and the military officials who always worked on a sole mission “the gain of power and more power.” However whatever the upshot was, it has to be faced by those having no interest and access to politics, means the general public.

Following the independence, it was professed that period of slavery is repealed, but still after seven decades to sovereignty, every partisan intellect undergoes that it had not achieved liberty but just changed their masters. The dilemma is that there is no shift in governance, as system of state machinery is still old as it existed during the British raj. We are in the 21st century, the age of globalization, though the majority of the Pakistanis can be viewed as they are still living in Stone Age, where they are deprived of the political, religious, social and basic human rights to live their lives, which constitution of Pakistan had bestow them. All the tribulations that at the moment Pakistan is facing, the preliminary study will demonstrate that the root cause of these is the system of governance and politics of country.

The entire history of Pakistan is full with constant brawl for power gain among the corrupt and illiterate politicians, most of them were feudal landlords and business owners, religious scholars, the military rulers and the bureaucracy of Pakistan. Pakistan observed diverse forms of government but none has satisfied in meeting people’s expectations, as every new government performance became worse than the earlier one. Politics of Pakistan has became the art of taking votes from peasants and funds from industrialists and assuring both the factions that the politicians will guard their interests against each other. The democracy here is destined to reconcile the differences among politicians, making amendments to constitution whenever desired and the law and state machinery to be used according to the will of the political parties. Techniques such as violent demonstrations, rallies, marches, physical rewards, money, bribes, etc, all are used under the principal ship of “divide and rule”.

The basis of conception, the vital element of national identification and a cardinal issue in Pakistani politics is Islam. Since the Zia regime, religious differences among the political players have become progressively striking, as the religious group’s access to government resources grew and the groups competed for the political interests and tried to endorse their approach to Islam, thus leading to the sectarian violence, militancy and terrorism, that all contributed towards present political scenario.

In the present day state system it is sought that the finest system of governance is democracy which is government of people by the people and for the people, but it doesn’t got its lay in Pakistan. In this regard, Pakistani politicians must recall what the Quaid-e-Azam stated about political leadership and democracy that “Pakistan is created for the advancement of the people living in it. People will themselves choose their leader and it’s the responsibility of the leader to accomplish the needs of the people and work enthusiastically for this motherland.” Another component of democracy are citizens and Quaid advised his nation too that, “citizens are the most imperative component of democracy. They need to strengthen themselves up if they desire democracy to be strong. They should choose better people among themselves, who will then run the country for them.

According to the sayings of Quaid-e-Azam, the countrymen must had to empathize that representation is not a right, it is a privilege, and privileges are not granted, they are earned, by investing character, values, services and devotion to the nation. This doesn’t only necessitate money, but time and sometimes life too. Thus people must opt for, elect and support those statesmen who earn the right to rule the people, not those who came to loot the riches of the homeland and then flee abroad to live their lives gleefully and prosperously.

The politics of the country can be transformed into a new horizon if we are willing, since one core problem is that we are corrupt too and also advocate for accountability, all together. So we need our people particularly our youth to be politically aware and sensitize towards nation building. They are the future and future needs to be bright for Pakistan. For this reason, we must challenge and change the existing political and economic structure, where bad and good alike in honor share.

The “dirty politics” must have to overturn by the people themselves, because now no Moses would come to save them, so they had to do it for them. Remember, once Aristotle said that, “silence is a woman’s glory.”

Thank to Stephen R. Covey, who wrote one of the bestselling book on success and motivation “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People: Restoring the Character Ethic”, which revealed the secrets of success of big business tycoons first time for the general public. It brought a revolution in thinking of the general masses that being successful and in the list of worlds richest is not a rocket science. All the richest and successful people have something in common in terms of their habits and rituals at work. It was being concluded in that book that success is the sum of some regularly practiced habits, and nothing more. And today, I’m going to discuss those habits of highly effective people to start our own journey towards that destination.

1. Be Proactive
We are living free life and have the will power to choose what we want to do or not. We have the power of controlling a situation by causing something to happen rather than waiting to respond to it after it happens. Productivity, then, means that we are solely in charge for what happens in our lives.  So stop blaming anyone or anything else. Therefore we must decide what is meant to be valuable, productive and gets the sense for us.

2. Begin With The End In Mind
Whatever you’ve intended to do in life, start by imagining end of the show in your mind that, what you will accomplish at the end and then take your flight to start. It will give your mind an image of the final picture that you want to draw along with understanding of the consequences. Use this frame of reference to make all your day-to-day decisions so that you are running toward your most meaningful life goals.

3. Put First Things First
Being successful is all about managing your time, money and resources wisely. To be successful we must manage our lives effectively, by keeping the mission statement in mind, understanding what’s important as well as urgent, and what is neither important nor urgent.

4. Think Win/Win
In all areas of life, everyone wants to be benefited at any cost without caring the others, but it doesn’t prove to be a lifelong policy to succeed. We must in our agreements and conversations approach the ways that are mutually beneficial for all the parties by keeping in view the needs of every group. For that purpose we all must cooperate to find all the alternatives that can be found to be mutually beneficial.

5. Seek First To Understand, Then To Be Understood
Listening is an art not a complex science. But most people don’t listen while having that sense. People just listens the speaker and start acting, devising solution or giving feedback even though without understanding what has been said. You’ll be more effective in you relationships with people if you sincerely try to understand them fully before you try to make them understand your point of view. For this purpose prepare to listen, focus, screen out distractions, concentrate on the message and ask questions to clarify before you dive into the conversation to present your point of view.

6. Synergize
Synergizing is the working together of two or more things to produce an effect greater than the sum of their individual effects. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.  In practice, this means you must use “creative cooperation” in social interactions.  We must value differences, because it is often the clash between them that leads to creative solutions and it is quite useful.

7. Sharpen The Saw
This is the habit of self-renewal, which has four elements.  The first is mental, which includes reading, visualizing, planning and writing.  The second is spiritual, which means value clarification and commitment, study and meditation.  Third is social/emotional, which stress management includes service, empathy, synergy and intrinsic security.  Finally, the physical includes exercise, nutrition and stress management.
